TV MODE
Party games on the TV
The screen becomes the table, the phones stay the controllers.
A night in front of a big screen, everyone holding their phone: it's the format Jackbox made popular, and it's what PlaySobr's TV mode does - with one core difference. Here the TV is not a requirement to play, it's a crescendo: all 15 games already run phones-only, and the screen elevates the game when it's there.
Three ways to bring the party to the screen
- 01
The TV browser + a 4-digit code
Open playsobr.com/tv on the connected TV, a four-digit code appears on the screen, the host enters it on their phone: the screen is paired for the night. Works on any TV with a browser.
- 02
Direct casting - no browser on the TV
On Chromecast, Google TV and Android TV, the Cast button sends the game straight to the screen from the host's phone. The TV needs nothing: no browser, no app.
- 03
Any screen, really
A computer over HDMI, a projector, the holiday rental's TV: any screen that can open a web page will do.
What the TV changes
The screen is not a mirror of the phone: it's a staging of its own, designed game by game.
The pyramid flips card by card in front of the whole table, the Werewolf village falls asleep at nightfall, the Aperitif cards are announced in full size, the sketches parade full screen. Meanwhile every phone keeps its private information: secret roles, cards in hand, votes.

Frequently asked questions
How do you put a party game on the TV?
Two paths with PlaySobr: open playsobr.com/tv in the TV's browser and enter on the host's phone the 4-digit code shown on the screen, or cast the game directly to a Chromecast, Google TV or Android TV from the phone. Either way, players stay on their phones.
Do you need to install anything on the TV?
No. Either the TV opens a web page, or it receives the game via casting without even having a browser. Nothing to download, on the TV or on the phones.
Which casting devices does it work with?
Chromecast, Google TV and Android TV. Fire Stick and Samsung/LG TVs without built-in Chromecast take the other path: their browser and the 4-digit code. Apple TV has no browser and is not supported: plug in a laptop over HDMI or use a compatible TV.
How much does the TV mode cost?
The trial lasts 7 days, no credit card. Then €4.99 per month or €19 lifetime (launch offer). Only the host pays: guests always play for free, and the 15 games stay free without the TV.
What if there's no TV?
The party happens anyway: every PlaySobr game plays phones-only. That's the difference with platforms that require a central screen to work at all.
